SATURDAY
I arrived at Shannon Airport. Heading through passport control.
Boarding the Aer Lingus plane at 7:12am.
The runway. Shannon, Ireland from above.
Sunrising over the Irish Sea. Quite a few empty seats on the flight to London.
Flying over the Thames on the way into London Heathrow.
There wasn't an air bridge, so after debarking the plane we boarded a bus that took us to the terminal. On the way, I saw this random abandoned piece of luggage.
The bus dropped us off directly at the baggage claim, thus I surprisingly didn't have to go through customs. From the main terminal, I went to the bus station, which was filled with travelers. I waited for a bit and watched the birds eat crumbs off the floor.
I had quite a bit of time, so I walked back to the airport terminal. There was a lot more movement, as at the bus terminal everyone was just standing around waiting. While I people watched I noticed the SIM card vending machine. I bought a £10 SIM card for my phone.
Boarded the bus to Bath.
Arrived at Bath Spa Bus Station.
Walked from the bus station a short distance to the hostel.
I arrived at the hostel and learned that my booking was lost. So I sat inside the hostel searching on the internet for nearly an hour trying to find a room for the night, which was a challenge. Bath on a Saturday night is filled with tourists and essentially everywhere was booked. Finally, I found a room for the night and I began my walk there. There was a rugby match going on and I was heading in the opposite direction of all the fans wearing blue and black.
Forefield Rise, it is surely a rise, especially with luggage.
Devonshire Inn. Dropped my things off and left to wander about.
What isn't a trip hazard.
Walked under the subway to cross the busy Lower Bristrol Road. Ivy turning red.
Bath, England.
Full moon rising over Sainsburg's grocery store where I picked up some food for dinner.
