19 December 2012 - Heading Home for the Holidays

WEDNESDAY

Printing my tickets from the self-check kiosk. Heading toward the security check at London-Heathrow.

You are now entering security screening.

I make it through security and wait in the lounge. Heading to the gate, I pass a soldier painting saluting Goodbye.

Departing London Heathrow. Breakfast.

London Heathrow to Washington Dulles.

The east coast. 

Landed at Washington Dulles Airport.

Checking the reader board for my transfer to Seattle. Boarding the plane at gate C14.

As I board the plane, all the TVs on the back of the seats were turned to CBS where President Obama was giving a special report on the Newtown Shootings.

The inflight magazine features an article about the tunnel their drilling under Seattle's viaduct. Snow is visible as we fly over Minnesota.

We touch down at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to refuel, because the plane was heading into 175 mph winds.

Head down the runway and up over the frozen lakes of Minnesota.

18 December 2012 - Last day of class before break, then off to Heathrow

TUESDAY

Queen Victoria. Saint Stephen's Church up on the hill.

Walked down the campus drive to catch a bus on the auto route, as it was a faster option since the "uni bus" was operating on holiday schedule since the undergraduates are already on holiday.

Catch the bus in Bath. Arrived at the bus station at Heathrow.
