20 June 2013: Bath, England

THURSDAY
A staircase up to Broad Street Place.
There are approximately 1,100 gull pairs in Bath. Urban seagulls is an increasing problem in England, because nesting on roof tops keeps them safe from predators and there is plenty of rubbish in the streets for them to feast on. In Bath, in an effort to detour the seagulls, some roofs will be painted with a gel that both emits an unpleasant odor and is perceived as fire by the gulls.
Attended a lecture on the culture and landscape of allotments at the BRLSI. Glass sidewalk tiles and iron vents.
A lady painting. J. Ellett Smith & Plumber.
